Identity
Our dairy farm is a family business steeped in tradition, with many decades of experience in high-quality milk processing. Like previous generations in a leading role, we see our dairy farm as down-to-earth.
Since our founding, we have placed great value on long-term relationships with producers, suppliers, employees and customers.
As a medium-sized company, we can make sustainable decisions independent of corporate structures and quarterly reports. On the basis of a cooperative partnership within the company and beyond, we strive every day to establish our dairy farm for generations to come.
Status Quo
The daily milk supply amounts to approx. 750,000 kg from 250 suppliers in Bavaria, Saxony and Thuringia. In addition to fresh milk, UHT milk and lactose-free milk, we also produce butter, industrial cream and concentrates from it.
Thanks to lean business structures and short decision-making channels, we can act quickly and flexibly without losing sight of our high-quality standards and efficient cost structure.
Our client base includes a wide range of companies, from regional retailers to nationally active corporations. We also export our products to our long-term business partners in various countries, such as Italy, Canada, China, Middle East and Central America, etc. We have maintained the best business relations with Italy for many decades. From small cheese dairies to larger milk processors, we supply our fantastic Milchhof Albert milk, which is processed there into the highest quality cheese specialities, among other things.
Future
The interplay between long-term aspects and innovative impetus has been the guiding principle of our entrepreneurial actions since our foundation. Our employees consistently align the dairy with the challenges and opportunities of the future.
We are investing in future technologies, in order to be able to serve future markets, to meet key requirements and to constantly increase sustainability in our production chain. Our bottling plants meet the most modern European standards and are subject to regular maintenance.
In all business areas, we are helping the next generation to find their feet in good time. In this way, we can ensure that the valuable expertise of our many long-standing employees remains in our company. At the same time, we are enabling new employees to get involved in the further development of our dairy farm with their own ideas and inspiration.
With this combination of tradition and innovation, we are constantly developing ourselves and our dairy so that future generations can also continuing writing the history of this dairy farm with increasing success.
History
Milchhof Albert was founded in 1908 by Adam Albert in the town of Bamberg. The amount of milk was eight litres per day in the beginning and increased on a near-daily basis. By rail and horse-drawn wagons, the milk was transported in cans to the immediate vicinity of Bamberg and to the business premises in the city centre.
In the early years, only fresh milk and butter were produced; later on, cheese and yoghurt were added. In order to meet the increasing demand, the company moved to a larger site in Scheßlitz near Bamberg in 1978.
Since the expansion of the warehouse and the renovation of the tank loading station and tanker cleaning hall with a new administrative unit in 2004, our dairy farm has been among the top ten German UHT milk producers.
In recent years, we have consolidated this position through further investments. In the core area of our production, this includes direct and indirect ultra-high temperature heating, as well as new filling and osmosis plants.
Certifications
We adhere to legal regulations and strict hygiene rules in all areas of our production. The professionals in our laboratory work conscientiously to ensure that we meet our high standards for the quality of our products and the protection of consumers at all times. They examine, analyse and document all areas so that we only deliver products of the highest quality to our customers and partners.
The high food safety of our products is visible through certification according to the IFS Food Standard.
We meet the increasing demand for GMO-free dairy products with certifications according to the VLOG standard. We meet nutritional requirements for ethnic groups by complying with the globally recognised “halāl” and “kosher” standards.
Co-Packing
Our co-packing partners benefit from our decades of expertise in processing milk and milk alternatives, which we also provide as a service provider. Thanks to our modern production facilities and our short decision-making paths, we have the possibility to find individual solutions in a short time and to guarantee our partners uncomplicated project handling.
Mutual trust as the bedrock of all cooperation is particularly important to us.
After checking the technical feasibility and agreeing on the economic framework conditions, the individual steps of a cooperative effort are planned: from delivery to the details of production to storage or delivery of the products. In this way, we stand by other dairy farms as a reliable partner in the event of short-term bottlenecks, just as we do for newly established companies looking for a specialist to fill their products cost-effectively.
